Carol Lynn McGuigan

Carol Lynn McGuigan, 89, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday, September 17, at her home.

Born in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, on December 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Carolyn Minerva (Bright) and William Grover Mueller.

She was the widow of Robert Clyde McGuigan. They were married for 61 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottsville. She was also a member of Allied Artists and Page Turners, both in Pottsville. She enjoyed reading, painting, Bible study, watching game shows and Hallmark television, spending time with her family and ice cream.

Carol was a 1961 graduate of Albright College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was employed as a clinical secretary at the former Pottsville Hospital.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Frederick Mueller.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Susan C. McGuigan of Pottsville and Sandra L. O'Brien of Port Carbon; and two grandchildren, Casey L. Corches, wife of Mitch, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Andrew R. Colna of Port Carbon.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Monday, September 28, at First United Methodist Church in Pottsville, with the Rev. John Wallace officiating.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 330 W. Market St., Pottsville, PA 17901.

Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Tina Ennis

Tina Ennis, 70, of Centre Street, Ashland, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton.

Born in Pottstown on March 16, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Jay and Jean (Reinohl) Ludwig.

She attended Tri-Valley High School and was a member of the football cheerleading squad. Tina was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.

Tina was a caring and loving woman who always took care of her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Jack” Ennis, and a daughter, Melissa Ennis, who died in 2016.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Tina’s Life at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026. The Rev. Jeremy Smallwood will officiate. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 4 p.m.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs, at a later time.

Margaret L. “Peggy” Allen

Margaret L. “Peggy” Allen, 75, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday, September 17, at Providence Place Retirement Community.

Peggy was the wife of former state Rep. Bob Allen, with whom she co-owned the former Allen & Pugh Funeral Home. They were married for 52 years.

Born in Pottsville on November 6, 1950, she was the daughter of the late M. Joseph Coyle and Catherine Coyle (née Langan). She was a 1968 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in 1972.

She was a dedicated educator at the former Jalappa Elementary School of the Pottsville Area School District, Blue Mountain Elementary West and Blue Mountain Middle School before retiring in 2006. She was also formerly employed at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

She attended First United Methodist Church with her husband and was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. She was a member of the Pottsville Philanthropic Club and a former volunteer for the Pottsville Free Public Library.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Coyle; a sister, Sheila Coyle Connor; and a son-in-law, Keith Mitchell.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Megan Allen Mitchell of Arlington, Massachusetts; a son, Thomas Allen and his wife, Jamie, of Havertown; grandchildren Cora Mitchell, Mariel Allen and Rhys Allen; siblings Barbara Trout and her husband, Jack, of Harrisburg, Robert Coyle and his wife, Sandy, of State College, Joseph Coyle and his wife, Kristan, of Abington, Thomas Coyle and his wife, Mary, of Ashburn, Virginia, Mary Pompella and her husband, William, of Fleetwood, and Kathy Gereski and her husband, David, of Venice, Florida; and nieces and nephews.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 21, at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. John Wallace officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday.

Interment will follow at Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville.

Susan E. Aungst

Susan E. Aungst, 69, of Pottsville, died Thursday at home.

Private cremation arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Helen A. Barnes

Helen A. Barnes, 98, of St. Clair, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in York Tunnel on March 24, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Mario and Helen (Graeff) Stablum.

Helen graduated as valedictorian of Reilly Township High School's Class of 1945. She enjoyed reciting her speech for friends until her death. She worked as a sewing machine operator at Honey Bee Blouse Factory, Branchdale, and was a union leader in the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She was a member of St. Casimir’s Church, St. Clair.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George Barnes, in 2016; and siblings John and Charles Stablum, Dolores Quinn, Rose Karmazin and Margaret Sorokach.

Helen is survived by daughters Lori Maley and her husband, Tom, of Schuylkill Haven, Kim Lukacz and her husband, Mike, of Cressona, and Lisa Barnes and her husband, Mohamed Benchaib, of Canada and St. Clair; grandchildren Tyler and Zachary Maley and Lauren and Rachel Lukacz; a sister, Jean Roeder of Schuylkill Haven; nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Poppy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., St. Clair, PA 17970. Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Amy Leigh Barnes

Amy Leigh Barnes, 46, formerly of Cressona, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville on November 9, 1979, she was the daughter of the late Edward Barnes and Linda (Lord) Mosolino.

Family was everything to Amy. She had a deep love for her children and cherished spending time with her extended family. She found great joy in caring for others, working as a devoted caregiver for her grandmother, Johanne Martz. Her love for her family was a meaningful part of who she was.

In addition to her parents, Edward Barnes and Linda Mosolino, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Mosolino; sister, Ashley; grandmother, Johanne Martz; father of her children, Bradley Wilkinson; Beth Baughman; and aunt, Sharon Lord-Ratliff.

Surviving are a son, Dylan Wilkinson and his companion, Danielle Kline, of Minersville; a daughter, Kali Freed and her husband, Mason Freed, of Orwigsburg; a daughter, Mariah Wilkinson and her companion, Kubo Dziak, of Freemansburg; grandchildren Delilah, Denver and Roman; two brothers, Edward Barnes and Jordan Mosolino; a sister, Amanda Mosolino; a nephew, Connor; nieces Riley-Ann and Athena; aunts Pam Johns and Patty Lord-Sprie; cousins Cory, Brandon and Randy; and former companion Robert Baughman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memories and condolences may be shared privately with the family.
