Jeanne V. Miller
Jeanne V. Miller, 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, with family by her side.
Born in Reading on July 27, 1936, Jeanne was a daughter of the late William D. Gillespie and Elizabeth R. (Posey) Griener.
Married for 50 years, she was the widow of Gar W. “Bap” Miller. She spent the majority of her life caring for family and friends as a mother and homemaker. She also cared for others as a hairdresser and nurse’s aide.
Jeanne had a true love for the outdoors and cherished the many times she spent hunting and fishing alongside her husband. A devoted Phillies and Eagles fan, she enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams.
Jeanne was also a wonderful dancer and especially treasured dancing the jitterbug with her husband, creating many happy memories together over the years.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Pamela Berger (Tim McFadden) of Hamburg, Wendy Whalen and Dan Miller (Michelle Bailey), both of Schuylkill Haven; five grandchildren, Tim, Justin, Jordan, Heather and Jackie; 10 great-grandchildren, Mason, Nolan, Beau, Hannah, Sophia, Lilah, Calvin, Rita, Addie and Saylor; her sister, Dianne Cooper of Florida; and her brother, David Gillespie of Illinois.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by a son, Gary “Butch” Miller.
Funeral Arrangements
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. until noon at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home in Schuylkill Haven.
A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, September 25, at Schuylkill Memorial Park.

Nancy Ann Kerestes
Nancy Ann Kerestes, 82, of Tamaqua, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Forrest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Weatherly.
Born in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Laura (Highland) Herron.
She was a graduate of Jim Thorpe High School and was employed as a secretary for the Carbon County Juvenile Probation Office in Jim Thorpe until her retirement.
Nancy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially making afghans and giving them to anyone in need. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, playing bingo, completing puzzles and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Wentz of Mount Gilead, North Carolina; sons, Brett Kerestes and his wife, Sadie, of Tamaqua, and Lonnie Kerestes of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Raymond Herron of Concord, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Bradley E. Ludwig
Bradley E. Ludwig, 85, of Niceville, Florida, formerly of Barry Township, died September 18, 2026, in Niceville.
Born in the former Ashland State Hospital on May 29, 1941, he was a son of the late James R. and Pearl S. Klinger Ludwig.
Brad attended Pumpkin Hill (Klinger’s) Elementary School and Tri-Valley Joint High School. He received his GED and completed 37 semester hours of college through the U.S. Air Force.
Military Service
Brad retired from the Air Force at the rank of E-7 after serving more than 21 years of active duty as an aircraft mechanic.
He began his career as an assistant crew chief on the Boeing B-47 bomber at Lockbourne Air Force Base in Ohio. He later served as an assistant crew chief on the Lockheed C-130 cargo aircraft at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and Mactan Air Base in the Philippines, where he was promoted to crew chief.
During his one-year tour at Mactan Air Base, he flew to Vietnam many times in support of the mission.
He was also stationed at Sewart Air Force Base in Tennessee; Clark Air Base in the Philippines; Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas; Ching Chuan Kang Air Base in Taiwan; Langley Air Force Base in Virginia; McChord Air Force Base in Washington; Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii; and Hurlburt Field in Florida, where he retired.
Brad earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award with three oak leaf clusters, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He was a member of Niceville Christian Church in Niceville, Florida, and the 463rd Airliners Association.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Gloria J. Neumeister Ludwig; two sons, Rickey and his wife, Cynthia, of Lynn Haven, Florida, and Wayne and his wife, Kriste, of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandsons, Christopher of Niceville, Florida, Andrew and his wife, Samantha, of Columba, VIC, and Eric of Rolla, Missouri; three granddaughters, Samantha and her husband, Kody, of Panama City, Florida, Natalie of Lynn Haven, Florida, and Cassandra of St. Louis, Missouri; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Brad’s life Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Barry Salem United Methodist Church, 858 Deep Creek Road, Ashland. The Rev. Benjamin Scholl will officiate.
A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Barry Salem United Methodist Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Barry Salem United Methodist Church, 837 Deep Creek Road, Ashland, PA 17921.

Mildred A. Schaeffer
Mildred A. “Millie” Schaeffer, 89, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Manheim Township.
Millie was born in Pottsville on September 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Mary (Sisko) Schwartz Bush and Eugene J. Schwartz Sr.
She was the widow of Richard T. Schaeffer, who preceded her in death on January 16, 1999.
In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Fessler, Christine Neal, Jean Thomas and Linda Radziewicz, and her brother, James Schwartz.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and their families.

Dennis L. Eckler
Dennis L. Eckler, 84, of Tower City, passed away Monday morning, September 21, 2026, at Providence Place in Pine Grove, surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born in Hershey on March 27, 1942, a son of the late Ernest and Florence Kieffer Eckler.
He was a 1960 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a 1970 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.
Dennis was a proud United States Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He later worked as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement.
Dennis was an active and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Tower City, where he served on the board of trustees, financial committee and building committee. He could often be found helping wherever needed.
He was also a member of Valley Lodge F&AM No. 797 in Valley View.
Dennis had a lifelong passion for cars and was especially proud of his restored 1967 Buick. He also enjoyed collecting coins, doing yardwork and spending time outdoors.
Above all else, his family was his world. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Umberger Eckler; two daughters, Angelique Miller and her husband, Michael, of Muir, and Virginia Strouphauer and her husband, Jared, of Pine Grove; two grandsons, Logan and Easton Miller; two sisters, Dianne Felty of Jonestown and Donna Reynolds-Hoert of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Following the service, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held in the church social hall.
Dennis will be laid to rest with full military honors at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dennis’s memory may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 400 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.

Timothy J. Seiler
Timothy J. Seiler, 77, of Tower City, passed away early Monday morning, September 21, 2026, at the home of his niece, Lisa Warren, in Tower City.
Born on July 11, 1949, he was a son of the late William Seiler and Violet Heckert Warren.
Tim was a graduate of the Patton Masonic School in Elizabethtown. He learned the value of hard work while growing up on his family’s farm outside Tower City.
Tim was a skilled machinist who worked for the former AMP Inc. in Tower City. He later became a co-owner of the former K & E Precision in Tower City.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of Moose, both in Tower City.
Tim was a skilled handyman who took great pride in everything he did. He was well known for his ability to build racecar engines, and there was little he could not build or repair.
In his younger years, Tim trained K-9 police dogs. He and Eileen also looked forward to spending time in Florida, with visits to Disney World always being a highlight.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James Seiler; a sister, Mary Beth Hasbrouck; a stepbrother, Glenn “Smokey” Warren; and a stepsister, Dora Somogynara.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Eileen Schoffstall Seiler; three children, Amy S. Murray-Ross and her husband, Michael, of Tower City, Timothy Seiler Jr. of Williamstown, and Mary A. Seiler of Muir; nine grandchildren, Michelle and Taylor Murray, Michaela Ross, Timothy III, Aaron and Zachary Seiler, Kimberly and Kassandra Richmond, and Matthew Richmond, whom Tim and Eileen raised and considered a son; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Cornitz of Hummelstown; and several nieces and nephews.
