Daniel David Eifert Sr.
Daniel David Eifert Sr., 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, , at his son’s home.
Daniel was born in Pottsville on September 16, 1936, a son of the late Leroy A. and Ruth F. (Krammes) Eifert.
He was the widower of Gladys (Keifer) Eifert.
In addition to his parents and wife, Daniel was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Eifert.
He was a graduate of Cressona High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Daniel was a member of Bethany Christian Fellowship Church in Cressona.
He served as past commander of American Legion Post No. 286 in Cressona, past District 13 deputy commander and past president of the New Minersville Rod & Gun Club. He was a life member of Cressona Fire Co. No. 1 and Rainbow Hose Co. No. 1 in Schuylkill Haven. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason and a member of Cressona Lodge No. 222.
Daniel is survived by four children: Elizabeth Ann Yarnell and her husband, George, of Mechanicsville; Linda Decker and her husband, Mark, of Tyrone; Daniel Eifert Jr. and his wife, Karen, of New Ringgold; and Danielle Wank and her husband, Jared, of Pottsville. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joel and William; a sister, Ruth Ann; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, , at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home in Cressona, with the Rev. Dennis Snyder officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. A reception will be held at Cressona Fire Co. No. 1 following the interment services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel’s memory may be forwarded to Cressona Fire Co. No. 1, 59 South Second St., Cressona, PA 17929.

Robert V. Canfield Jr., 75, of Tuscarora, passed away Sunday, , at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Susan Eidem
Susan Eidem, 79, of Deer Lake, passed away Monday, , at the home of her daughter.
Born in Lebanon on November 30, 1946, Susan was a daughter of the late Raymond and Lola (Seiple) Putt.
Married for 51 years, Susan was the widow of Carl A. Eidem, who passed away on October 5, 2018.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Barbara Creveling, companion of Scott Kramer, of Deer Lake; sons Joseph Eidem and his wife, Doris, of Auburn, and Dave Eidem of Pottsville; grandchildren Kyle Eidem and Sabrina Hunt; great-grandchildren Aaliyah Green, Luca Febo and Lio Febo; brother William Putt; sisters Diane Weaver, Carol Arnold and Beverly Hoy and her husband, Doug; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Putt Jr.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, , at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home in Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Kerry Duke officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park.

Linda J. Liquori
Linda J. Liquori, 78, of Oreland, passed away peacefully Monday, , at Montgomeryville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in New York, she was a daughter of the late James and Julia (Reddy) Cardiff.
Linda worked as a casino security officer in Atlantic City until 2011. She enjoyed spending time with family, including many shopping trips and travel adventures. Linda also enjoyed spending summers in her cottage in Perkasie and socializing with her “cottage peeps.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Smith, Marian Wirsing and James Cardiff.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Denise Higgins of Oreland, as well as cousins, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday, , at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Fountain Springs.

Richard A. Wertz
Richard A. Wertz, 71, of Tremont, formerly of Sunbury, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, , at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Richard was born in Sunbury on December 2, 1954, a son of the late George and Anna Chapel Wertz.
He was a proud United States Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War.
Richard worked as a custodian within the public school system and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Riegel Wertz.
He is survived by his children, Heather, Stacy, Amanda and Richard Jr.
During the final years of his life, Richard was a resident at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, where he was like family to many residents and staff. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Tremont Ambulance Association. He will be deeply missed.
Richard will be laid to rest privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.

Rose Marie (Ruch) Rhody
Rose Marie (Ruch) Rhody, 85, of Tower City, passed away suddenly Sunday, .
Born on February 23, 1941, in Orwin, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Beatrice Bettinger Ruch. Rose was a 1959 graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.
Rose dedicated several years of her career to working at the Schuylkill County Courthouse for the District Attorney’s Office. She was also an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Orwin.
What Rose loved most in life was spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderful appreciation for life and cherished every moment and memory along the way. Rose will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and unwavering love for those around her.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David R. “Sam” Rhody, with whom she shared 63 loving years; her two sons, David Rhody Jr. and Stephen Rhody; and a brother, Lester Ruch.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Fessler and her husband, Edward, of Pine Grove; sisters Jeanne (Ruch) Rodichok of Gratz and Kathy (Ruch) Holley and her husband, Robert, of Seltzer; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She lived a full and meaningful life led by faith and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest privately in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Orwin.

Elvin K. Stauffer
Elvin K. Stauffer, 80, of Tower City, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord on , surrounded by his caring family.
Elvin was born April 11, 1946, the youngest child of Benjamin and Esther Stauffer of Manheim.
At age 19, before entering two years of voluntary service, he married Geraldine Martin on February 12, 1966. They enjoyed 32 years of raising their seven children together before she succumbed to the effects of multiple sclerosis.
Elvin is survived by six children: Clifford Stauffer and his wife, Sharon, of Kaufman, Texas; Karen Gingrich and her husband, Leon, of Mine Centre, Ontario; James Stauffer and his wife, Elinor, of Tower City; Wayne Stauffer and his wife, Joanne, of Waymart; Bruce Stauffer and his wife, Gwen, of Tower City; and Charlene Torkelson and her husband, Kevin, of Tilley, Alberta. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Arlene Stauffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Geraldine; his youngest son, Wesley; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
Elvin was a charter member and faithful supporter of Hegins Valley Mennonite Church for 57 years. The local and surrounding communities have been blessed with custom cabinetry from Stauffer Wood Products for more than 50 years.
He also studied the Bible deeply to shine the light of truth on subjects of interest, including prophecy and creation science. He enjoyed writing and speaking to share this with others.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, , at Hegins Valley Mennonite Church, 180 E. Mountain Road, Hegins.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, , at the church.
