Judith A. Johnson
Judith A. Johnson, 77, of Ashland, passed away September 24, 2026, at the residence of her son in Sunbury.
She was the wife of the late Albert “Deon” Johnson, who passed away September 11, 2024.
Born in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Betty (Lambert) Heinly.
Judy was known by many through her career as an assistant manager at Turkey Hill in Ashland, where she worked from 1990 until her retirement. She previously worked as a machine operator at the former Ashland Knitting Mill.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Kulengosky.
She is survived by her son, Danny L. Johnson of Sunbury.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Mark J. Hummel Funeral Home, 48 N. Broad Mountain Avenue, Frackville. Burial will be private.

Mary I. Bozylinski
Mary I. (Lally) Bozylinski, 78, of Raven Run, West Mahanoy Township, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 24, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born at the former Locust Mountain State General Hospital in Shenandoah Heights on March 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James I. and Anna A. (Rusk) Lally.
She was a 1965 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah.
On July 26, 1969, she married Robert Dennis Bozylinski at the former St. Joseph’s Church in Girardville. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2026.
Before her retirement, Mary was employed as a secretary for the Shenandoah Valley School District.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Shenandoah and the former St. Vincent de Paul Church in Girardville.
Mary was deeply proud of her Irish heritage, which she carried with great love and pride throughout her life. She was also a devoted Notre Dame fan, always cheering faithfully for the Fighting Irish and sharing her enthusiasm with family and friends.
She was quick-witted and possessed a wonderful sense of humor, along with a warm and straightforward personality. She had a way of bringing laughter to those around her while always speaking with honesty and sincerity.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James G. Lally, on April 4, 2004.
Surviving are her two sons, Rob Bozylinski and Brian Bozylinski, both of Raven Run; nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Divine Mercy Church, 234 W. Cherry Street, Shenandoah. The Rev. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will serve as celebrant.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, October 1, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

Robert L. Laubenstein
Robert L. Laubenstein, 87, of Pine Grove, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at home with family by his side.
Born in Friedensburg on October 4, 1938, Bob was a son of the late Willard and Ada (Keller) Laubenstein.
Married nearly 61 years, Bob was the loving husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Jackson) Laubenstein.
Bob was a 1956 graduate of Cressona High School.
After working for years as an auto mechanic, he began a career as a truck driver, working for Evans Delivery and later for ABF.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Robert Laubenstein Jr., partner of Amanda Bartlebaugh, Altoona, and Kathleen Laubenstein, wife of John Wawrzyniak, Malvern; grandchildren Olivia Wawrzyniak, Gabriela Wawrzyniak, Richard “Tommy” Fink, Jordan Carothers and Hayden Fink; sister Elaine Fisher, wife of Thomas, Lake Wynonah; and nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Miller.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home Inc. in Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Jim Fidler officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Theodore M. Staller Sr.
Theodore M. Staller Sr., 85, of North Manheim Township, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Geisinger St. Luke’s, Orwigsburg, with family by his side.
Born in Tremont on January 3, 1941, Ted was a son of the late Harry Staller and Elizabeth (Freeman) Staller Olexo.
Ted was the loving husband of Loretta Elaine (Kraft) Staller, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 2.
He was a 1960 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
Ted was a member of Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove. He worked for Quakermaid Kitchens in Leesport.
Ted enjoyed watching high school football, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and, above all, being a Pappy.
In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by his children, Theodore M. Staller Jr., husband of Kimberly, Schuylkill Haven, and Debby Parobek, wife of Scott, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren Sarah Staller (Christopher Gonzalez), Stephen Staller and Yvonne Romagnolo (Rob); brother Kenneth Staller, Walnutport; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Beau.
Ted was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Parobek; siblings Betty Charowsky, Harry, Richard and Edward Staller, Joan Dillion, Virginia Lutchkus, Linda Beck, Faye Krasinsky and Lamar Staller; his dog, Riley; and cat, Sammy.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, at Schuylkill Church of the Brethren in Pine Grove, with the Rev. Mike Barnhart officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Joan Marie Grapsy
Joan Marie Grapsy, 93, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Providence Place Retirement Community.
Born in Pottsville on May 27, 1933, Joan was the daughter of the late Alex C. and Marion (Wineland) Kriston. She attended St. John the Baptist Parish School and graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School in 1951.
Joan’s life centered above all on her family. She and her beloved husband, Ramon Peter Grapsy, shared 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Together, they traveled, raised four children and built a life marked by deep love and devotion.
Joan took immense pride in being Ramon’s wife, and their affection for one another was evident to everyone who knew them. She passed away on what would have been Ramon’s birthday, a date that holds special meaning for those who loved them both.
Before her marriage, Joan worked in the office at Bell Telephone. After marrying Ramon, she devoted herself to raising their children and caring for their home, which she considered her life’s greatest work and proudest accomplishment.
She hosted countless holidays and family gatherings and was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Warm, affectionate, protective and proud, Joan showed her love through her cooking, steadfast support and the tenderness she extended to those closest to her. Her grandchildren knew her lovingly as Mommom.
Joan was a devout Catholic who took much comfort in her faith. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Church in Pottsville and was active in the parish’s Catholic Women’s Union and School and Convent Guild. She also served as a Cub Scout den mother and was involved with the Boy Scouts.
Joan is survived by her four children, Ramon Grapsy and his wife, Helena, of Sebastian, Florida; Debra Ann Guers and her husband, Edward, of Pottsville; Michael Grapsy and his wife, Edith, of Macungie; and Mark Grapsy and his fiancée, Elisabeth Wilson, of Grasonville, Maryland.
She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Rebecca, Edward, Casey, Taylor, Jillian, Raymond, Paige, Kaylee, Shane, Michael and Ava; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Eleanor Kriston; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald C. Kriston, and daughter-in-law Elaine, the late wife of her son Mark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at St. John the Baptist Church in Pottsville, with Father Bobbin officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Pottsville.
Joan’s family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff of Providence Place for the compassionate care provided during her final days.

Glen T. Casserly
Glen T. Casserly, 62, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2026.
Born and raised in Mahanoy City, Glen was the beloved son of James R. Casserly Sr. and Louise Youch Casserly. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise; brothers James and Scott Casserly; sister Sandy Mitchell; brother-in-law Bobby; and niece Melissa Mitchell.
Glen had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a loyal and passionate Notre Dame football fan and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.
Above all else, Glen cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Mary Casserly, Mahanoy City; daughter Brianna Casserly, West Penn Township; grandson Justin Harakel Jr.; brother Thomas Casserly; sister Tammy Casserly, both of Mahanoy City; and many nieces and nephews.
Glen’s kindness, faith and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and fondly remembered.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to local emergency medical services in Glen’s memory.

Margaret Ann “Maggie” Getz
Margaret Ann “Maggie” Getz, 71, a resident of Weston Place, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026.
Maggie was born in Shenandoah on July 1, 1955, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Ptaszkowski) Tobin.
She was a 1973 graduate of Shenandoah High School and then entered the military. She served her country and retired from the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, during which time she served overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
She also worked for and retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
A life member of Walter H. Wardigo AMVETS Post 7, she served two terms as commander. Maggie was also a member of Anthony P. Damato American Legion Post, Shenandoah Heights Fire Company and the Shenandoah Alumni Band.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren on vacation, especially at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Ptaszkowski; sister Alice Antonucci; and sons Michael John Getz Jr. and Jeremy George Colosimo.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Michelle Getz, and her husband, Kim Leonarczyk, of Panama City, Florida; son Mark Getz and his wife, Kelly, of Weston Place; son James Colosimo Jr. and his wife, Whitney, of New Boston; and daughter Jamie Colosimo of St. Marys, Georgia.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Kira, Aubrey and Dylan Getz; Kaydence Colosimo; Madison Leonarczyk; Saylor James Colosimo; and Naia Rose, Gavin, Jasper and Sebastian Vorce.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Ronald Bocian at 10 a.m. Monday, October 12, at Divine Mercy Parish on West Cherry Street in Shenandoah. Everyone is asked to meet at the church by 9:45 a.m.
Maggie will be laid to rest with military honors alongside her mother and sons at St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah, immediately following the Mass.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation and celebration of Maggie’s life from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 11, at Walukiewicz Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Paul Garry Kreiger
Paul Garry Kreiger, 67, of Port Carbon, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at his home.
Born in Pottsville on June 9, 1959, he was the son of the late Nelson and Irene (Roeding) Steckley.
Paul served in the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver for Horwith Trucking in Northampton.
Paul was a guitar player in the local band Charisma and also performed sound work for local bands. He built computers as a hobby and enjoyed woodworking and building models with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Gerry Kreiger Jr.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Koons (Stewart); sons Brandon Kreiger, Cody Kreiger (Gabrielle), Scott Kreiger (Rachel) and James Kreiger (Emmy); stepdaughters Kylie Pohronezny (Ben) and Monique Persing (James); and stepson Tim Barnes II (Erica).
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph and Chelsea Koch; Gabby, Zoey and Miles Kreiger; Jeremiah, Logan, Emma and Owen Pohronezny; Timothy Barnes III; William, Alexis and Daphne Barnes; Gary Brennan III; and Annabelle Brennan; brothers Ron Kreiger (Lisa), Steven Steckley and Stuart Steckley; aunt Ingrid Roeding; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be private.

James C. Bixler
James C. Bixler, 76, of Tower City, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at UPMC Harrisburg with his family by his side.
Born in Lykens on March 20, 1950, he was a son of the late Chester and Mae Hoffman Bixler. He was a 1968 graduate of Williams Valley High School and graduated from Williamson Trade School in 1971.
Jim was employed as a boiler technician with Delval Equipment Corporation, retiring in 2016 after 44 years of service.
He belonged to Ashlar Lodge F&AM 570, Lykens; Tower City Loyal Order of Moose; and Tower City American Legion Post 468.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and taking in all nature had to offer. He could often be found feeding the animals around his home or rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Above all else, family was everything to Jim, and he always looked forward to family game night.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra J. Miller Bixler, in 2006, and sister Christine Rodichok in 2019.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Hoffman Readinger-Bixler; daughter Angie Bixler and her husband, Eddie Bohr; bonus daughter Heather Lee and her husband, Christian; grandchildren Ashley and Austin Bohr, and Kinsey, Brendan and Sophie Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, at the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Jim will be laid to rest in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Orwin.

Lamar P. Scheib
Lamar P. Scheib, 91, of Tremont, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Lamar was born in Tremont on December 26, 1934, a son of the late Harry and Ada Moyer Scheib.
Lamar was a 1953 graduate of the former Tremont High School and a proud United States Army veteran.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic. Lamar worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring at age 76.
He was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Tremont, and a life member of Donaldson Fire Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Gleason Scheib; brother Earl Scheib; and an infant brother and sister.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Fisher Scheib; children Michael Scheib and Lisa Coleman (Craig); granddaughters Shaylene Scheib and Kerri Kroh (Eric); and great-grandson Cian Kroh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Lamar will be laid to rest at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Rita A. Novak
Rita A. Novak, 82, formerly of McAdoo, passed away Tuesday morning at Providence Place, Drums, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late Magadelene Sadonis.
Rita was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo. She was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family and others. Over the years, she lovingly provided childcare for many families in the area.
In her younger years, Rita enjoyed being a CYO cheerleading coach and Girl Scout leader. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed trips with her husband to casinos near and far.
Above all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who were a special part of her life.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Robert Novak of Providence Place, Drums; daughters Annette Leberfinger and fiancé Stephen Baranko of Hazleton, Karen Krupa and husband Andrew of Coopersburg, and Suzette Browne and husband Jonathan of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is also survived by grandchildren Matthew and David Leberfinger, Kelli and Abby Krupa, and Hayden and Paige Browne; great-grandchild Adelaide Leberfinger; sister Barbara Chitswara and husband Vincent of McAdoo; brother Joseph Falensky and wife Dolores of West Hazleton; and nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday, September 28, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
