Anna Mae Adley
Anna Mae Adley, 82, of Tower City, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2026, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind a legacy of love so profound that it lives on in everyone fortunate enough to have known them. Anna was one of those extraordinary people.
Anna Mae was born in Pottsville on April 21, 1944, a daughter of the late Mary Kafora.
She retired from the former J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills in Tower City and was also a banquet server for many years at Kevin’s Place in Lykens.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Adley; a grandson, Travis Bender; and a brother, Steve Kafora.
A devoted mother of three to Justine Brown and her husband, Robert; Ronnie Adley and his wife, April; and Andy Adley, Anna Mae was also the grandmother of Phylicia Sierer and her husband, Chad; Declianna Bender; and the late Travis Bender. She was the great-grandmother of Scout and Olivia Sierer.
She was the heart and soul of her family, but her love extended far beyond those connected to her by blood. She was an unofficial adoptive mother to many, always opening her heart, her home and her arms to anyone who needed kindness, comfort or a place to belong.
She is also survived by a brother, Joseph Kafora, and his wife, Linda.
Anna Mae was, quite simply, one of the kindest and most giving souls one could ever hope to meet. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she spent her life putting others before herself. She gave without expecting anything in return, loved without condition and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel valued and deeply cared for.
Her Byzantine Catholic faith was the foundation upon which she built her life. Anna Mae was a devoted member of the former Holy Spirit Byzantine Church in Williamstown and a current member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Minersville.
She lived that faith not only through prayer but through her actions—in the compassion she showed, the sacrifices she made and the unwavering love she offered to others. She was a beautiful example of what it means to live a life rooted in faith, grace and service.
Although dementia slowly took pieces of the woman her family knew, it could never erase the love she had given or the countless lives she had touched. Her illness may have changed the final chapters of her story, but it will never define the beautiful life she lived.
Her greatest legacy will not be measured in years but in the lives she shaped, the faith she passed down and the love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many others who were blessed to call her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090, or the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 44 Donaldson Road, Tremont, PA 17981.
Funeral services will be held at , from the chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Gregory Noga as celebrant.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Anna Mae will be laid to rest in Holy Spirit Byzantine Cemetery in Williamstown.
