WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP — A Shenandoah Heights woman is facing felony assault and child endangerment charges after Pennsylvania State Police alleged she stabbed a juvenile with a pair of scissors during a domestic altercation Tuesday morning.
Elisha Renee Williams, 51, was charged on , following an investigation by state police at Frackville.
Police Detail West Mahanoy Township Altercation
According to an affidavit of probable cause, troopers were dispatched to a residence on Schuylkill Avenue at approximately for a reported active domestic altercation.
While troopers were responding, a caller reported that Williams had a knife and a pair of scissors, according to the affidavit.
Police said the juvenile requested medical attention for injuries to the head and hands when troopers arrived. The juvenile told investigators that Williams had stabbed them in the hands and the back of the head with scissors.
Troopers reported observing cuts and puncture wounds on the juvenile’s hands and blood coming from the back right side of the head.
A witness told police the altercation began over a locked front door, according to the affidavit. Another witness corroborated the account and reported that Williams had threatened the juvenile and two other people while holding a knife.
Charges, Bail and Preliminary Hearing
Williams faces the following charges:
- One count of first-degree felony aggravated assault
- One count of third-degree felony endangering the welfare of children
- Four counts of simple assault
- Two counts of possessing an instrument of crime with intent to employ it criminally
- One summary count of harassment
According to court records, Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker set bail at $150,000 monetary. Williams was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on October 6 after being unable to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for , before Kilker.
The juvenile’s identity is being withheld. All charges are allegations, and Williams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
