Pedestrian Struck After Argument; Man Facing Aggravated Assault Charges

State Police at Frackville are investigating an incident that occurred on Route 924 in Mahanoy Township  where a pedestrian was struck late Thursday.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the incident occurred around 10:40pm at 602 Gold Star Highway, near Shenandoah in the parking lot of the Bad Dog Fitness Center.

Police say the incident occurred as David Sisko, 26, of Minersville was engaged in an argument with Charles Welna, 30, of Shenandoah.

Sisko reportedly backed his vehicle out of the parking lot and onto Route 924 then accelerated forward straight at the Welna striking him with the passenger side front bumper.

Welna was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with unknown injuries.

Sisko has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.  He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
