Man Charged With Attempted Murder and Drug Charges After Heroin Overdose

On Wednesday, around 8:30pm, Shenandoah Borough Police were called to 23 S Chestnut St for a heroin overdose.

Police arrived and learned that a female had overdosed on heroin and was barely alive. Shenandoah Community ambulance arrived on scene and gave the victim multiple doses of NARCAN ultimately saving her life.

Through investigation Police learned that Jason Bredbenner injected the female with heroin causing her near death. Bredbenner was taken into custody where police located several packets of heroin on his person.

Bredbenner was charged by the Shenandoah Borough Police Department for the following crimes: 1 count of Attempted murder by delivery of drugs, 1 count of Aggravated Assault, 1 count Simple Assault, 1 count recklessly endangering another person, 1 count possession with the intent to deliver, 1 count possession of a controlled substance, 1 count possession of drug paraphernalia, and 1 count of Tampering with evidence.

Bredbenner was arraigned by Judge Anthony Kilker and was housed at the Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail.
