Drunk Driver Causes Two Crashes that Closed Route 901 Wednesday

A drunk driver caused two crashes that closed Route 901 Wednesday.

According to Cass Township Police, around 4:45pm, police were called to a motor vehicle accident with a fleeing vehicle in the area of Live Oaks Road along Route 901.

When police arrived on scene, they found a vehicle in the roadway with severe damage to the driver's side door that was driven by Christian Klinger.

Witnesses told police that a blue truck crossed into the other lane and struck Klinger's vehicle in the driver side door. Witnesses also told police that the truck lost a wheel then continued down the road.

While police were investigating the first crash, they were notified of a second crash in the area of Hilltop Terrace Drive along Route 901.

Police moved onto the second crash to find a blue pickup truck into a stone wall.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle went straight into a utility pole, and then the flipped approximately 4 to 5 times landing back on its wheels.

Police identified the driver of the truck as, Lee Son Yom. After talking to Yom, police could smell alcohol from his breathe.

After performing Field Sobriety testing Yom, he was transported to Pottsville Hospital for blood alcohol content testing. Charges pending the outcome of the results.

Klinger, who was injured in the first crash, was treated by EMS at the scene.

Route 901 was closed in the area while both crashes were cleared.
