Three Injured in Wednesday Morning Crash

Three people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash in Mahanoy Township.


Around 10:45am, Wednesday, emergency personnel were called to the Intersection of Route 54 and Upper Main Street in Mahanoy Township for a two vehicle accident with injuries.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Nichole Baer, 29, of Tamaqua pulled out from the stop sign at Route 54 and Route 4030 intersection into the path of Eva-Marie Jones, 35, of Mahanoy City.

Jones' vehicle struck the front of Baer's and both came to a stop against the guard rail.  Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage.

Baer, Baer's passenger, and Jones all suffered injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital.

Baer received several citations including not stopping at a stop sign, driving with a suspended license and not having insurance on the vehicle.

Assisting at the scene were the West End Fire Company, Mahanoy City, Ryan Township EMS and Ashland EMS.
