Man Facing Aggravated Assault Charges After Incident in Girardville

A 19 year old is facing aggravated assault charges after an incident in Girardville on Friday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, a disturbance/assault was investigated around 8:10am Friday morning that occurred near the intersection of North 2nd Street and Beech Street in the borough.

Police say David Chuplis, 35, alleges that Edward Conapitski, 19, threatened and attacked him with a knife.

Chuplis was not injured during the incident.

Conapitski was located afterwards and taken into custody.  He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harrassment.

Conapitski was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $40,000 bail.
