Two Injured in Crash in West Mahanoy Township Wednesday Morning

Two people were injured Wednesday morning in crash in West Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 11:00am Wednesday on Ringtown Boulevard (Route 924) just north of the Shenandoah.

Police say John Guers, 83, of Shenandoah attempted to cross Route 924 from one parking lot to another with his Chevrolet Malibu and crossed into the path of Rocco Petrone, 24, of Weatherly who was driving a Dumpster Hauling Truck.

The right front of the truck struck the left front of the Malibu.

Both vehicles were reported to have been extremely damaged and undrivable.

Both drivers were reported to have suffered minors injuries in the crash including Guers who had cuts on his hands and complained of shoulder pain.

Shenandoah Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Guers will be cited for the crash.
