Rhoades Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced

North Schuylkill, Pottsville Area, and Blue Mountain grads have been announced as the recipients of a James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation.

Marybeth Matz, Schuylkill Area Community Foundation’s Scholarships and Awards Administrator, announced the 2018 recipients of the James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation Scholarship. The scholarships are awarded annually to qualified Schuylkill County high school seniors planning to further their education. Students must exhibit a commitment to education, citizenship, and community. Each will receive a $2,000 scholarship to defray the costs towards their higher education and pursue their dreams.

Scott Grigas, a graduate of North Schuylkill High School, will attend Muhlenberg College to major in Computer Science; Taylor Kerstetter, a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, will attend the University of Pittsburgh to major in Nursing; and Noah Robertson, a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, will attend the Pennsylvania State University – University Park to major in Immunology and Infectious Disease.
