UPDATE: Hoffman Boulevard Tractor Trailer Incident on Wednesday

A tractor trailer incident caused a mess Wednesday afternoon on Hoffman Boulevard in Ashland.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, traffic was being diverted down Walnut Street in Ashland due to a water main break at the intersection of Centre and Hoffman Boulevard.
The incident occurred around 1:00pm when a tractor trailer driven by Cornelius Alexander, 48, of Zephyrhills, FL was travelling down Walnut Street.  Alexander intended to turn right onto Hoffman Boulevard but instead of turning into the proper lane, he turned into the oncoming traffic lane.

The truck became wedged on the island that divides the lanes as well as pulled several PPL/Phone lines from the home at 102 South Hoffman Boulevard and struck a road sign.

The incident damaged the island retaining wall.

Route 61/Hoffman Boulevard was temporarily closed while the incident was cleared.

Ashland Fire Police assisted with traffic.
