The Ashland Little League kicked off their 2019 season on Saturday morning with a parade and opening ceremonies.

Starting at Hoffman Boulevard, Schuylkill County Sheriff Joseph Groody, Ashland Police, and the Ashland Fire Department led Little League players in their annual march up Centre Street to Toewe-Rebuck Field.

Once at the field, the league held their opening ceremonies where they honored players and teams from the 2018 season as well as their coaches and players graduating at the end of the 2019 season.

The league also recognized local dignitaries for their work in obtaining the Commonwealth Financing  Authority Greenways Trailways Recreation Grant that helped with significant improvements to the field.

Also recognized was the 20th Anniversary of 2 teams from the 1998 and 1999.

The 1998 Ashland Little League All-Star team went on to win the State Championship and represent Pennsylvania.
