Information on the Upcoming Route 309/Kennedy Drive Project in McAdoo

The Route 309/Kennedy Drive Project has begun in McAdoo.

PennDOT says the main construction this year will be on Kennedy Drive between Washington Street and Sherman Street.

This area of Kennedy Drive will be closed to traffic from May 30th, 2019 to September 2019.

Mail and garbage services will still continue for residents and businesses as scheduled.

According to McAdoo EMA, sidewalks will be open for pedestrians and businesses can expect deliveries/pickups to be accommodated

PennDOT also says that starting in the summer months, citizens will still be able to get to events like the McAdoo Fire Company’s Bazaar on June 13, 14 and the 15th. The citizens will be able to walk there and there will local car and truck traffic allowed.

From September to the end of October, Kennedy Drive will be closed to through traffic from Sherman Street to Blaine Street with the same restrictions and allowances.

The work that will be done in the areas above includes sidewalks, roadway, drainage, waterline relocation, signals and ADA ramps along with a new box culvert under Kennedy Drive that moves water in the Celebration Creek.
