Storm Drops a Quick Layer of Hail on Area Roads Thursday Morning

A small isolated storm surprised some Schuylkill County communities Thursday morning.

Around 7:30am, the National Weather Service alerted Schuylkill County about an isolated storm that came in from the northwest and impacting the Ashland area first by 7:45am.

The storm surprised everyone when it back dropping hail that began covering the grassy surfaces and area roads, making it look like it just snowed.

As the storm came through, Ashland residents began sending us photos and videos of Centre Street, Hoffman Boulevard, and the side streets covered in hail.

The storm continued southeast and crossed the Minersville and Pottsville areas as well.

No major damage was reported.

Five minutes after the storms left, the sun was shining!

Check out some of the photos and videos sent to us by our followers.
