High School Students and Volunteers Partner to Restore Shenandoah Helipad

Students from the Shenandoah Valley High School partnered with the Lowes Home Improvement Center in Pottsville to repaint the large red cross located at the Heliport located at the east end of Shenandoah.

The project titled “Lowes Heroes” was conceived by Lowes to provide materials for worthwhile projects that would benefit local communities. For this project, Lowes donated 15 gallons of paint, paint utensils and tubes of caulking needed to patch the cracks on the landing tarmac.

This project was coordinated by Shenandoah Fire Chief Russ Schumack, Fire Marshal Rick Examitas and SV Public Relations Director Bob Yudinsky.
