The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Walk for Progress & Taste of Schuylkill events on Tuesday, October 1 in Schuylkill Haven, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The walk will begin in the parking lot of the Schuylkill Haven High School. The rain date is Wednesday, October 2.
The Walk for Progress is sponsored by Wegmans and is held to celebrate “Local Chamber of Commerce Month” in Pennsylvania. Walking in unity symbolizes our business and nonprofit communities working together for the betterment of Schuylkill County. Awards will be presented to the most spirited team and the largest team.
Once attendees walk down Main Street in Schuylkill Haven, they will end at the Walk in Art Center for a Taste of Schuylkill. This year, the Taste of Schuylkill is sponsored by The Evans Network of Companies. The Taste of Schuylkill will feature members of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, who will offer food and beverage samplings.
In addition, to help celebrate their 80th anniversary, The Evans Network of Companies will be offering tours of their facility.
This is the first time the event has been moved out of Pottsville. The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce has partnerships with nine affiliate organizations and plans to rotate this event to different areas of Schuylkill County in the future.
