Ringtown Man Killed Motorcycle Crash on the Gold Star Highway

 A Ringtown man was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Gold Star Highway late Saturday afternoon.

According to Frackville police, the crash occurred around 6:00pmin the northbound lanes of Route 924 near Gilberton when Robert Babarsky, 48, of Ringtown lost control of his motorcycle and slid across the southbound lanes and came to a rest on the shoulder of the highway.

Barbarsky was reported to have suffered severe head injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville where he was pronounced dead by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak at 6:45pm.

Police said it had been raining heavily at the time of the crash and he was not wearing a helmet.
