Two Shenandoah Valley Elementary Students Receive STAR Reader Awards

Two Shenandoah Valley third graders were informed that they were selected to receive a STAR Reader Award from the KSLA Schuylkill (formerly the Schuylkill County Reading Council).

Affiliated with the International Literacy Association, the non-profit volunteer organization is dedicated to promoting literacy and providing professional development.

Each year two students from Schuylkill County are selected who have demonstrated exceptional reading achievement.

Shown receiving their certificates of achievement, and a $50 certificate for Firefly Bookstore are Shenandoah Valley students Wiskendy Brito Salas, and Marlow Solls Rodriguez.

Since the annual banquet for this year was cancelled each student will receive a $75 gift certificate from Francesco’s Restaurant in Shenandoah where they can celebrate the award with their families.

Making the presentation is Joan M. Koslosky, President of the Schuylkill County Chapter of KSLA.
