Fire crews are responding to a working structure fire at the Tamaqua Hi-Rise.
On Friday morning, just after 6:15am, emergency personnel were called to 222 East Broad Street, Tamaqua for a structure fire.
Schuylkill County 911 radio traffic stated that an alarm came in for a fire on the 16th floor.
As the first chief arrived on scene, he confirmed a working fire with possible entrapment and requested a 2nd alarm with a RIT team.
Active fire was confirmed on the 16th floor with multiple people trapped.
UPDATE: (6:50am) - Fire was reported knocked down.
