One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Mahanoy Township on Thursday

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Mahanoy Township on Thursday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred at the intersection of Morea Road and the Interstate 81 southbound on ramp near Mahanoy City.

Troopers say Sean Smyth, 48, of Lansford was traveling west on Morea Road when he turned in front of a vehicle traveling east being driven by Jared Smith, 28, of Hamburg .

Jared Smith's Ford F350 impacted the passenger side of Sean Smyth's Jeep Cherokee.

Sean Smyth was transported by Mahanoy City EMS to St. Lukes Miner's Campus with a minor head injury.

Jared Smith and his passenger, Dean Bucks, 57, of Fogelsville were not injured.

Hoffman's Towing assisted with removal of the Jeep Cherokee and the F350 was able to be driven from the scene.

Sean Smyth was cited for driving his vehicle without a valid inspection.

Along with Mahanoy City EMS, the West End Fire Company assisted at the scene.
