Schuylkill County Snow Emergencies and Parking Bans - 12/15/2020

Several Schuylkill County Municipalities have announced snow emergencies and parking bans ahead of the Wednesday and Thursday's Winter Storm.

ASHLAND - A snow emergency has been declared from 2:00am until 6:00am, Thursday

Parking will be prohibited on Hoffman Boulevard from Brock Street to Centre Street and also on Centre Street from Front Street to 23rd Street.

Residents are ordered to move their vehicles from these locations from 2:00am to 6:00am.

Any vehicles that are not moved from the above locations will be fined $50 and towed away at the owner's expense.

FRACKVILLEFrackville Borough has declared a snow emergency for the impending snowstorm forecasted to begin on Wednesday December 16, 2020. Significant snowfall is forecasted during this snow event. Locally we could receive well over 12 inches of snow.

This snow emergency will go into effect at 12:00 PM (noon) on December 16, 2020 and last until the end of the storm.

Parking will be PROHIBITED during the snow emergency along all snow emergency routes which are:

North and South Lehigh Ave. (entire length from Borough Line to Borough Line)

East and West Oak St. (entire length from Borough Line to Borough Line)

Any vehicle remaining parked on the snow emergency route after 12:00 PM (noon) on Wednesday December 16, 2020 will be TICKETED and TOWED.

Please be careful during this snow event and limit travel unless absolutely necessary to allow our Public Works Department and Penn Dot to clear all Borough Streets of snow and ice.

GIRARDVILLEMayor Michael Zangari has issued a Snow Emergency Announcement
Day 1 - Wednesday at Noon until Thursday at midnight
Day 2 - Friday

KLINE TOWNSHIP - The Kline Township Supervisors have issued a Snow Parking Ban starting today at 2:00pm and extending into Thursday at 12 noon. There is NO Parking on the even side of the streets except in some special areas.

MCADOO - The Borough of McAdoo is alerting all residents and motorists that there is a Snow Ban in effect beginning Wednesday (tomorrow) at 9:00 am until 9: 00 pm Thursday night. Residents are to park on the even side of the streets. There is no parking in the alleys. There are a few other restrictions that is mandated by ordinance. Violators of the ban can be ticketed and towed.
Also, once the storm has stopped snow must be removed from their sidewalks within 24 hours (businesses 4 hours or by daybreak). Violators can be ticketed and cited

MINERSVILLE - Due to the expected severe winter weather and chance of a significant accumulation of snow, the Borough of Minersville has declared a Snow Emergency. The Snow Emergency will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 until 10 a.m. Thursday, Thursday 17, 2020.

There will be NO PARKING on Sunbury, Front and S Third Streets during this time. Any vehicles parked on these streets will be ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense. This declaration is to allow our plow trucks to maintain a wide travel lane for traffic (this declaration is not for snow removal). Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

PLEASE REMEMBER

No residents can plow, shovel or blow any snow or ice from private property onto a public street, crosswalk, transit stop, or sidewalk.

Also, please do not deposit any snow and/or ice on or within 3 foot radius of any fire hydrant or within 
15 feet of any intersection.

No person who has removed an accumulation of snow and/or ice within a parking lane can reserve the parking space with any type of objects, i.e. chairs, buckets, signs.

Any person using motorized equipment/vehicles, i.e. snow plows, ATVs, tractors, loaders, etc., are prohibited from piling any snow on a street. All persons using motorized equipment/vehicles to move snow are required to remove the snow from the street.

PALO ALTO BOROUGH- Residents must remove all cars, trailers, etc from the North side of Savory Street, the snow emergency route beginning at 10 pm tonight (12/15/20). Vehicles not moved will be towed at owner's expense.

PINE GROVE - A Snow Emergency is in effect for Pine Grove Borough starting Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 3:00pm until Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 3:00pm. When a snow emergency is issued vehicles parked along a snow route shall be promptly removed from the route. No vehicles shall remain on the snow routes until the snow emergency has been lifted. If the vehicles are not removed in the Snow Emergency Routes they will be ticketed and towed.
The following streets are designated as Snow Emergency Routes:
1. E. & W. Mill Street
2. E. Pottsville Street
3. Wood Street
4. N. & S. Tulpehocken Street
5. Snyder Avenue
6. Orchard Street
There will be parking available in the lot behind Borough Hall.

PORT CARBON - Snow Emergency Declared

POTTSVILLE - The city of Pottsville is enacting a Snow Emergency Level 2 plan beginning at 08:00 am Wed 12/16 and lasting until Friday 12/18 at 12 noon.

SAINT CLAIR - Mayor Richard E. Tomko has instituted a ban on parking from Wednesday, December 16, 2020 beginning at 4pm and ending Thursday, December 17 at 1pm for the following: 

-The entire length of Second Street.
-The entire length of Hancock Street.

All vehicles must be removed from those areas.

SHENANDOAH - Per Mayor Andrew Szczyglak - Snow Emergency has been declared.  The Snow Emergency will be from Wednesday at Noon until Thursday at Noon.

There will be no parking along Main Street from Washington Street to Laurel Street and on Centre Street from White Street to West Street.

Vehicles not moved will be ticketed and towed.
