One Injured; One in Custody in Walnut Street Crash in Ashland

One person is in custody and another injured after a crash in Ashland late Sunday.

At 11:00pm, Sunday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of 1338 Walnut Street, Ashland, for a multi-vehicle accident with injuries.

According to witnesses, a grey sedan was travelling west on Walnut Street at a high rate of speed when the driver veered to right striking multiple parked cars and eventually striking the rear of a parked car flipping it forward onto it's roof.

One person was in the flipped car and sustained injuries.  The victim was taken to the hospital via Washington Ambulance.

The driver of the grey sedan was not injured and was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police for suspicion of DUI.

In all, 6 vehicles were involved, 3 of them sustaining disabling damage.

Responding to the scene were the American Hose Company, Washington Fire Company, and Washington Ambulance along with Oakland Auto and Steve's Towing for removal of the vehicles.
