On Friday night, the Nativity BVM and Mahanoy Area Communities presented two checks as part of the "Stronger Together" Campaign.
The past several weeks, both schools have been selling wristbands with the imprint "Nativity BVM & Mahanoy Area Stronger Together to Beat Childhood Cancer". The bracelets were $3 each with 100% of the profits being split between St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Ella Connolly, a 12 year old from Mahanoy City with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
During Friday night's high school football game between the two schools, at halftime, the cheerleaders from both teams presented check to Ella and to St. Jude.
