Schuylkill County Fire Company and Saw Mill Out Thousands of Dollars After Checks Altered

The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating multiple incidents where bank checks were altered after being sent through the mail.

According to Troopers, on September 10th, 2021, an investigation began after receiving reports of 4 checks that had been intercepted and their dollar yamounts altered after being sent through mail service.

State Police said that the Auburn Fire Company and the Auburn Fire Company Ambulance had sent 2 separate checks that were changed to $15,000 each and the Reynold's Saw Mill, of Schuylkill Haven, had 2 separate checks that were altered to $20,000 each.

The investigation into these thefts is still ongoing.
