According to Pottsville Police, on Friday, October 29th, 2021, just after 6:00pm, officers were dispatched to the area of N. Centre and E. Race for a pedestrian struck.
An investigation revealed that a 12 yr old female, from Pottsville, was struck by a truck that fled the area.
Preliminary information indicated that a dark blue or black extended cab truck with a matching color hard cap on the bed was the striking vehicle and fled north on N. Centre St from the scene.
The victim was transported by Schuylkill EMS to a medical facility for treatment.
UPDATE: Police have said they have identified a suspect but have not released their identity.
