Pottsville Police Issue Warrant for New York Man's Arrest After Assault


Pottsville Police have issued a warrant for New York man's arrest after an alleged assault over the weekend.
On October 23rd, 2021 around 4:45pm, Pottsville Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Line Street for a report of an assault. Additional information provided was that a pregnant female was at this address and was just assaulted by her boyfriend.

Police arrived on scene and spoke with the 20-year-old female victim who stated she had been verbally arguing with Elit M. CalderonBruno, 22, of New York when he became physically abusive towards her by striking her in the head and face multiple times. He then took hold of her throat with both of his hands and applied pressure to her throat. The woman reported that CalderonBruno applied enough pressure to her throat that she lost consciousness briefly.

The woman further reported that CalderonBruno then attempted to drag her inside the residence and she resisted being pulled into the house and while resisting, she injured her wrist.

A witness spoke to Police and corroborated the account of events. Schuylkill EMS arrived on scene to evaluate the victim prior to transporting her to a local medical facility.

A criminal complaint was prepared by Ptlm Stephen Delinko charging CalderonBruno with Strangulation, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct.

A warrant has been issued for CalderonBruno's arrest Anyone with information on his current location is asked to call a local law enforcement agency.
