One Injured After Explosive Device Detonates in Kelayres

A man was taken to the hospital for injuries he suffered in an explosion in Kelayres Tuesday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, just before 5:30am, an explosive device detonated outside a home at 3 Center Street in the Kelayres section of Kline Township.

The explosion injured a man, who has not been identified, and caused extensive damage to 3 Center Street.  The blast also shattered nearby car windows and broke all the windows in a vacant church across the street.

State Police are calling the incident an attempted homicide.

The State Police Troop L Major Case Unit has been at the scene all morning investigating.  McAdoo Fire has also been assisting a the scene.
