Victim Identified in Fatal Crash on Route 309

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville have released details on Thursday's fatal crash on Route 309 in Rush Township.

According to Troopers, the crash occurred around 2:55pm as Carter Davison, 46, of Tamaqua was driving southbound in a Subaru Outback on Route 309 and Adam Guzman, 33, of Hazleton was traveling northbound in a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Pickup truck just north of Hometown.

At the intersection with East Main Street, Davison made a left turn into the northbound lanes and traveled directly into the path of Guzman.  Guzman's pickup truck impacted the passenger side of Davison.

Davison was wearing his seatbelt but suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Al Barnes.

Guzman and his passenger, Johnny Hernandez, 39, of Hazleton were both transported to the hospital with injuries.

Route 309 northbound was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated by the Troop L Reconstruction Unit and Forensics Services Unit.

Fire personnel from Hometown, McAdoo, and Tamaqua assisted at the scene.
