As of 10:00pm, Friday, Interstate 81 northbound remains closed near Hazleton in Luzerne County.
The highway is closed to an accident between Exit 143 (Route 924) and Exit 145 (West Hazleton) that occurred earlier Friday evening.
No details are available yet on the crash or what kind of vehicles are involved.
There is a backup of traffic northbound south of Exit 143 with traffic being detoured.
UPDATE: Interstate 81 has since reopened and we have learned the crash involved a PennDOT Plow truck and a FedEx Tractor Trailer
