Firefighters Battle Multi-Alarm Fire in Ringtown


Firefighters are still at the scene of a multi-alarm fire in Ringtown.

Just before 5:30am, Monday morning, emergency personnel were called to a structure fire at 117 West Main Street in Ringtown.

As firefighters arrived on scene, heavy smoke was scene coming from the structure, and a 2nd alarm was dispatched.

Firefighters from Schuylkill, Columbia, Northumberland, and Luzerne Counties were called to the scene to fight the fire and also transport water.

Along with the fire, emergency personnel dealt with extreme cold temperatures.

The fire has destroyed several homes as well as Rentschler's Ice Cream Parlor.

As of 8:30am, firefighters are still fighting an active fire.  No word on a cause or where it started as of this posting.
