WEATHER ALERT: Flood Advisory Issued for Schuylkill County


The National Weather Service has been issued a Flood Advisory for Schuylkill County.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and/or snowmelt and/or ice jam is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill and York.

* WHEN...Until 9:00 AM, Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.  River or stream flows are elevated. Ice movement may lead to jams and blockages which hold water back like a dam, flooding upstream
of the blockage. The ice jams may also release the pent up water suddenly, causing flooding downstream.
