Guns, Heroin, Fentanyl, and Cocaine Seized in Drug Bust in Pottsville


The Pottsville Police Department seized guns and a large amount of drugs during a bust on Friday.

According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, on Saturday, February 5, 2022 officers from the Pottsville Police Drug Investigation Unit and the Office of the PA Attorney General - Bureau of Narcotics Investigations, conducted a search warrant at 316 E. Race Street, in the City of Pottsville. 

Officers and agents seized large quantities of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine, along with the following firearms: Taurus 9mm pistol, Taurus 357 pistol and Citadel 12 gauge shotgun. 

Two residents, Ali Salahuddeen, 51, and Gary Troy Jr., 44, both of Pottsville were taken into custody in connection with the incident. 

Troy was charged with 3 felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, 3 felony counts of Criminal Conspiracy, and 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Salahuddeen was charged with 3 felony counts of Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, 3 felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, 3 felony counts of Criminal Conspiracy, 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Both were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash for Troy and $100,000 straight cash for Salahuddeen.
