Shenandoah Valley Band Director Receives a $1000 Music Grant Award

Shenandoah Valley Music Instructor and Band Director Mr. John Shoener were recently notified by the Peter R. Marsh Foundation that his school was awarded a $1,000 Music Grant aimed at promoting activities sponsored by the school’s music education department.

Students would then be given the opportunity to showcase their musical talents by performing for a variety of senior audiences that might include senior living facilities, retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior centers, events, ceremonies, churches and military/veteran organizations.

Not only does this provide entertainment for our senior audiences, it also provides the students with an opportunity to perform community service, and enhances the self-esteem of our student musicians.
