Butler Township/Ashland Police Investigating Case of Animal Cruelty After Dog Found with Bullet Wound


Police in Ashland and Butler Township are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a dog was found with a bullet wound.

According to Police, the dog in the photograph was found on Woodland Heights Road, near Big Mine Run in Butler Township with a bullet wound.  The dog had ran loose from a home on Walnut Street in Ashland.

The dog was taken to an emergency veterinarian in Harrisburg to be treated and is now home.

Anyone who may have seen the dog while it was running loose or has information related to the incident is asked to contact Butler Township Police or Ashland Police by calling (570) 462-1991.

  1. Hope they find whoever did this cruel act. If the dog was attacking someone that's one thing, but if they didn't call the cops then they probably weren't justified. Why do people have to be so cruel?
