Pine Grove Man Faces Charges After Leading State Police in Pursuit

A Pine Grove man is facing a slew of charges after leading police in a pursuit earlier this month in southern Schuylkill County.

According to Troopers, on March 3rd, 2022, around 7:15pm, the Pennsylvania State Police attempted to pull over Joseph Wenrich, 22, of Pine Grove for speeding in his F-250 on Long Run Road in Wayne Township.

Wenrich led State Police in a 20 minute high speed pursuit through Wayne, Washington, and Pine Grove Townships evading police several times by going off-road and causing property damage.

Wenrich eventually stopped and was taken into custody without any further incident.

State Police charged Wenrich with fleeing and eluding police, criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person, carrying a loaded weapon, careless driving, and other traffic violations.

Wenrich was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley who set bail at $20,000(10%) cash.

He spent one night in Schuylkill County Prison before posting bail the following day.

A preliminary hearing was held on March 10th, 20220 and was continued until April 21, 2022 with Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi..
