PHOTOS: Shenandoah Valley Graduation 2022

Photos of Shenandoah Valley's Graduation Ceremony held on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 in the high school gymnasium.

Parents, family, and friends filled Shenandoah Valley's gymnasium to watch the 2022 Seniors graduate from Shenandoah Valley.

The commencement exercises were opened with the Shenandoah Valley Band playing "Pomp and Circumstance" lead by John Shoener as the Senior entered the gym two by two.

Senior Gabriella Fugon sang the National Anthem and Nicholas Mikita led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Superintendent Brian Waite certified the diplomas and offered words of encouragement to the Seniors and told them to prove themselves as the "Big Dogs" that they are.  

Superintendent Waite spoke on the American Flag that sat before the podium.  The flag was an American Flag that flew over the US Embassy in Bagdhad.

Valedictorian Philopateer Boctor spoke on "Reflecting" of their time at Shenandoah Valley.

Salutatorian Angelena Donovan spoke about "Respect", and Class Speaker Kaylee Hysock spoke about "Responsibility".

Andrew Ulicny, chairman of the Shenandoah Valley Wall of Fame, introduced the three newest members of the Wall of Fame:

  • Dr. Jaime Karas Bayzick - Shenandoah Valley Class of 1997
  • Dr. Noreen Heffner Chikotas - Shenandoah Valley Class of 1985
  • Dr. Joseph M. Laureti - Shenandoah Valley Class of 1990
Class Advisors Michelle Mikita and Lisa Stevens read off the graduates names as they received their diplomas.

Before the passing of the Mantle, 2022 Class President Diego Olayo Fuentes led the class in the turning of their tassles.

Olayo Fuentes then passed the sash to Brandon Breznick, the 2023 Class President.
