Michael Phillip Murphy
, 68, of Tamaqua, PA died on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in Coaldale, PA. He was the husband of Sharon (Mooney) Murphy with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage this past March. 

Born in Coaldale, PA on June 22, 1954, Michael was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Marcin) Murphy. A 1972 graduate of Marian High School, he completed his education at Stevens Trade School. Michael worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Cressona, PA. He was a member of the former St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua. Michael would spend his free time fishing, taking trips to the casino, and following sports, especially the Phillies, Eagles, and Notre Dame. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Sharon, 

Michael is survived by sons, Michael and his wife Amber of Hometown, PA and Matthew of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Cillian and Aspen; and siblings, Joseph and his wife Adele of Pottstown, PA, Eugene and his wife Michelle of Tamaqua, James and his wife Linda of Tamaqua, Joan Delay and her husband Thomas of New Ringgold, PA, and Mary Louise Bittle and her husband William of Ohio; sister-in-law, Darlene Murphy of Hometown; and many nephews and nieces. 

He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas. 

A prayer service will be held at 8 PM on Sunday, July 31 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Call 6-8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. 

Private interment at the convenience of the family.

Joseph Paul Vilcheck, Sr.
, 87, lifelong resident of Schuylkill Township, PA, died on Monday, July 25, 2022, in Pottsville, PA. 

Born in Tuscarora, PA, on February 1, 1935, he was a son of the late Luke and Matilda (nee Dobrovodsky) Vilcheck. 

Joseph attended Blythe Township schools and served in the Army from 1957-1960. He worked for multiple railroad companies laying track and retired from J.W. Zaprazny, New Ringgold, PA. Joseph was of the Catholic faith. 

He is survived by daughter, Lori Perchansky of Leesport, PA; sons, Joseph Vilcheck, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA and James Michael Vilcheck of Tuscarora; brother, Vincent Vilcheck of Summit Hill, PA; and many nephews and nieces.

Joseph was predeceased by sons, Michael Vilcheck and Brian Vilcheck; brothers, Steve Vilcheck, Francis Vilcheck, Paul Vilcheck, and John Vilcheck; and sisters, Anna Yakub, Julia Vlcek, Agnes Spezialetti, and Kathryn Britrich. 

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in St. Bertha Cemetery, Kettle and Catawissa Roads, Tuscarora (Tamaqua), PA. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Diane L Schlegel
, age 67, of Valley View, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her residence..

Private services were held..

Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Terry L Michael
, age 61, of Spring Glen, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.

He was born on Friday, September 9, 1960, in Pottsville, a son of the late Elwood E Michael and the late Violet P (Wolfe) Michael.

He was a 1978 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School .

He served in the US Army.

Terry was a grader operator for Gessner Logging.

He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz.

Terry enjoyed fishing, going to his camp, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Tabitha L Michael of Lewes, DE; granddaughter, Shyanne R Herren of Lewes, DE; brother, Rick Michael of Tremont; three sisters, Beverly Reiner of Rough And Ready, Cindy Paul of Lykens, and Sandy Weaver of Pillow; and several nieces and nephews.

As per Terry's wishes there will be no services.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
