Water Boil Advisory Lifted in Ashland

The water boil advisory that was issued for Ashland Area Municipal Authority customers has been lifted as of July 15th, 2022.

The advisory had been in effect since July 6th, 2022 after a potential problem was found during routine maintenance.

The following message was released by the borough at the time.

Upon a routine inspection of the Ashland Area Municipal Authority Water Tanks, we discovered a missing vent. Due to the potential risk of contamination, we must issue a water boil advisory until further notice. We ask all Ashland Area Municipal Authority customers to boil your drinking water for at least one minute and let it cool before drinking or using it for cooking.

Ashland Area Municipal Authority is working with PA DEP and our Engineering Firm to resolve this problem as quickly as possible.

Residents no longer need to boil their water before drinking.
