Man Pulls Machete During Route 61 Road Rage Incident in Schuylkill County

A man is facing charges after pulling a machete on someone during a road rage incident on Route 61 in Schuylkill County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident happened on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 around 2:00pm at the intersection of Route 61 and Market Street in Deer Lake.

Police say during the incident, Ronald Wesner, 52, of Center Valley, PA stopped his vehicle in the middle of Route 61, went to the trunk of his Chevrolet Equinox and brandished a machete from a sheathe, before returning to his vehicle.

State Police filed charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, careless driving, reckless driving and other traffic violations through Magisterial District Judge Andrew J. Serina's office.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 29th, 2022 before Judge Serina.
