Pottsville Police, Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, and FBI Arrest Man on Firearm and Drug Charges


A Pottsville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on firearm and drug charges.

According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, on Thursday, September 29, 2022 around 6:00am, members of the Pottsville Bureau Police, Schuylkill County Drug Task Force and the FBI arrested William “Pete” Quintana, 49, outside his place of employment in Hegins. Shortly thereafter, a search warrant was executed at Quintana’s home at 516 W. Race St. in Pottsville.

Both the arrest warrant and search warrant were the results of an on-going investigation in which Quintana was selling controlled substances.

During the search of the residence, 49 grams of methamphetamine, over 164 grams of marijuana, packaging materials and digital scales were seized. Additionally, a .380 Diamondback handgun with an obliterated serial number, a Star 9mm handgun and a Century International Arms 7.62 rifle were seized along with brass knuckles.

As a result of the search warrant, Quintana, who is registered as a person not authorized to possess a firearm due to prior felony convictions, was also charged with felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to deliver marijuana, two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, 2 misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, 2 misdemeanor counts of possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, 3 felony counts of persons not to possess a firearm and one count of felony person possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

During an interview with investigators, Quintana admitted to possessing the seized firearms and to possessing and delivering methamphetamine and marijuana.

Quintana was arraigned on all charges by MDJ Kilker who set bail at $125,000.00 straight cash. Quintana was then incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison pending further court action.
