Pottsville Swears in New Chief of Police, Captain, Sergeant, and Corporal

On Tuesday morning, the City of Pottsville swore in new leadership to the police department.

With the retirement of Pottsville Chief of Police Richard Wojciechowsky last week, the city promoted 4 members from within their force to new positions.

A special ceremony was held in the Council Chambers, Tuesday, where those officers were sworn in.

The first to take the oath was John R. Morrow, the City's new Chief of Police.  Chief Morrow previously held the position of Captain.

John Mohl was promoted to Captain after holding the position of Sergeant.

Renee Truscott was promoted to Sergeant after holding the position of Corporal.

Lastly, Patrolman Jonathan Randolph was promoted to Corporal.

"Today is an exciting day for me personally as well as for the department.  Each officer that was promoted along with me today, deserves where they are going to be.  I look forward to working with them going forward."  Chief Morrow said.

"Retired Chief Wojciechowsky had a very good template in place, and I plan to continue to follow that under the direction of Mayor Clews."  Chief Morrow added.
