Kulpmont Man Arrested for Destroying Pool with Fireworks in Ashland

A Kulpmont man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after he allegedly destroyed a pool in Ashland with a firework.

According to court documents, on October 4th, 2022, Ashland Police were called to the 1400 Block of Centre Street for a report of fireworks being thrown into a pool.

A couple at the home told Ashland Police Officer Andrew Weaver that Brian Deeter, 37, of Kulpmont, threw a firework into their pool from the rear of the home, causing their pool to tear and flood their yard and basement.

The couple saw Deeter throw the firework, then flee down the alley and drive off in a white SUV.  The couple told police that he was upset with them due to "an item that was sold and he didn't get $50 that he was owed".

On October 24th, 2022, police received the estimate that was done on the damage to the pool as well as the flooded basement which exceeded $5,000 making the criminal mischief charge a felony.  Deeter was also charged with reckless endangerment and harassment.

The charges were filed Friday, November 4th, 2022, and he was taken into custody later that day.

He was arraigned Friday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bail.
