Pottsville Man Injured After Being Ejected in City Crash


A Pottsville man was injured after he was ejected in a crash on Friday.

According to Pottsville Police, on December 23, 2022, around 5:30pm, City police, fire and EMS were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that crashed and went down an embankment in the 400 block of South Centre St. 

Additional reports indicated that a male was ejected from the vehicle and laying under it. 

Officers arrived in the area to find a 2006 Dodge Durango on its side and partially suspended between a wall and a tree stump.

City police immediately made an emergency extrication of the male operator, pulling him from under the vehicle and dragging him to a safe location, due to the instability of the vehicle.

During the investigation, several items of contraband were found inside the vehicle.

Seamus Loughran, 65, of Pottsville, was transported Lehigh Valley Medical Center-East for further evaluation of injuries he sustained during the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
