Jewelry Store in Laurel Mall Robbed

A jewelry store was robbed Wednesday afternoon in the Laurel Mall in Hazleton.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton, the burglary occurred around 3:50pm at the D'Jesus Jewelry Store.

Troopers say they were originally called to the mall for a report of "gun shots being fired".

Once arriving on scene and investigating, it was determined no shots were fired and no weapons were brandished during the robbery.

Police say a male, approximately 5'9" to 6' tall, wearing black pants, a gray jacket, red gloves, and a black baclava style face mask entered the jewelry store, sprayed a fire extinguisher, then removed a neck mannequin containing a large amount of gold necklaces.

The man then fled through the mall, exiting through TJ Maxx.
