Anthony L. Bucklar, 82, formerly of St. Clair, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters, Saturday February 11, 2023, at his residence in York.


Born in St. Clair, January 2, 1941, He was the son of the late Alex and Mary (Kaplan) Bucklar.

Tony worked in law enforcement as a Police Officer and retired from the town of West Hartford, CT. then as a Deputy Warden at the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville and retiring from the State Correction Institution – Graterford, PA.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, York, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann M. (Finello) Bucklar, in 2015 and a sister Dolores Fell, in 2018.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Donna Bucklar-Brignac and her husband Al Brignac of Bay St. Louis, MS; Nancy Bucklar of York, Jo-Ann Bucklar and her husband Steve Stoltzfus of York; 8 Grandchildren – John Petrozino Jr, Michael Bucklar, Matthew Fisher, Keith Carl, Shannon Carl, Anthony Carl, Jacqueline Rowan and Katie Carl; 6 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held for Anthony and his wife Jo Ann at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2023 at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair, PA 17970. Calling Hour will be from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating.

Burial will be held at St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Port Carbon immediately following the service.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine "Lori" Stidham, RN at Lehigh Valley - Cedar Crest, Allentown on Saturday, February 11, 2023, while surrounded by her devoted husband Franklin "Jay" Stidham and her loving family. Lori waged a valiant battle against Leukemia at 63 years of age.

Born Monday, July 6, 1959 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Lori was the daughter of the late Paul Derr and Mary "Jean" (DeFrehn) Derr. She was also predeceased by her sister, Dianna Wagner.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, Lori was always eager to learn, grow and improve. She studied Data Processing and Entry at McCann School of Business, Electronics at Lincoln Technical Institute and ultimaely found her career as a Registered Nurse, completing her education at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Many will remember Lori from J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills and most recently, providing loving care to her patients at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center - Cedar Crest and at the new Carbon County Facility. In years passed, Lori assisted with calls on the Tamaqua Ambulance and was a faithful fundraiser for the Tamaqua Rescue Squad and the American Hose Fire Company. In her spare time, Lori loved spending time with her family. She was an ardent animal lover and along with raising kids, Lori and Jay raised several furry families of Dalmatians and Labrador Retrievers. Paws and Ebony were her constant companions.

Surviving along with her beloved husband Jay are son, Jay "Bud" Stidham and his wife, Noelle, daughters, Cheryl A. Sitlinger and her husband, Matt of Tamaqua, PA and Stacey Hadden, sisters, Candice Moyer and Jan McCole and her husband, LeRoy "Bun"; 6 grand children whom she adored, Isabella, Sophia, Garrett, Mason, Jovanni and Eli. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive Lori.

Gena H. Maurer
, 72, of Ashland passed away early Monday morning at The Gardens at York Terrace.

She was born on December 15, 1950 in Ashland and was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Rosti) and John Woodward Sr.

Gena graduated from Cardinal Brennan High School in 1969.

She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.

She was the longtime companion of Robert R. Brosius of Pitman.

Gena worked on the farm and also as a teachers aide for Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29.

Gena was always sure everyone was in line and really enjoyed spending time with family. She also liked shopping, cooking, decorating, crafting and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Gena is preceded in death by; sister Tina Vaughn; sister Mary Kelly; brother John Woodward Jr.; brother Fred Woodward.

She is survived by; daughter Jennifer Chatcho (John), Pitman; daughter Erica Maurer (Tom Camerini), Pitman; brother William Woodward (Agnes Marie), Camp Hill; sister Ann Marie Kelly, Ashland; brother Joseph Woodward (Betsy), Ashland; brother David Woodward (Donna), Catawissa; brother Frank Woodward (Joann), Ashland; longtime companion Robert R. Brosius, Pitman; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday February 18, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 1115 Walnut St, Ashland PA 17921. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in the church with the Rev Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery-Fountain Springs.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gena’s memory to St. Charles Borromeo Parish-Memorial Fund, 1115 Walnut St., Ashland PA 17921.
