Two Victims Identified in Fatal Fire in Southern Schuylkill County


The bodies of two people were found during a fire in Wayne Township on Wednesday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Wednesday, just after 5:30am, firefighters were called to 1027 Indian Drive in the Lake Wynonah development in Wayne Township for a structure fire.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home.

Fire was found on the second floor and in the basement of the home.

During fire suppression, the bodies of Michael Dellock, 54, and Renne Bentley, 52, were found.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Major Case Team along with the Troop L Fire Marshall's unit are investigating the cause of the fire and cause of death of the victims.

An autopsy was scheduled by the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office.

State Police say the incident is still an active investigation.

Responding to the scene along with State Police and the Schuylkill County Coroner's office were fire companies from Summit Station, Schuylkill Haven, Friedensburg, Pine Grove, and Mount Aetna.
