Heroes For Wishes Softball Game Unites Police and Firefighters in Granting Life-Changing Wishes

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Schuylkill County is gearing up for an amazing display of community spirit as the Heroes For Wishes Softball Game returns in Schuylkill Haven, pitting local firefighters against brave police officers.

What initially began as a small endeavor by Josh and Ashley Donatti, of Schuylkill Haven, to kick off the annual Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament at Schuylkill Haven Island Park has transformed into an incredible fundraising event, garnering a multitude of monetary donations that may be enough to grant a heartfelt wish all on its own.

The Moms for Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament returns the weekend of July 28th, 29th, and 30th, bringing back the showdown between local firefighters and police officers. The entire Schuylkill County community is cordially invited to witness this thrilling display of competitive softball and join in supporting the cherished wishes of children facing critical illnesses. Best of all, attendance to the event is free, encouraging everyone to come together and make a difference.

The tournament's opening ceremony, slated for 6 pm, on Friday, July 28th, 2023 will be a moment of celebration as the community marks the 32nd year of playing softball to fulfill the life-changing wishes of children throughout Schuylkill County and the Lehigh Valley.

Following the ceremony, the crowd can look forward to local and state police facing off at the Island Park's field.

The fun doesn't end with the Heroes For Wishes Softball Game; the Mom's for Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament will continue throughout the entire weekend.

In addition to the tournament, there will be a basket raffle, 50/50 drawings, and engaging activities to keep the little ones entertained.

For those who are unable to attend but wish to contribute, Ashley Donatti has set up a Venmo account (@Ashley-Donatti) for easy and convenient remote donations.
